Wednesday, December 10, was a victorious one for the men’s and women’s varsity basketball teams after defeating the Panthers from Ledford High School. The Lady War Eagles prevailed during the 3rd quarter, scoring 16 more points than the Panthers. They successfully won with a score of 52-36.
“We definitely are starting to fall into our roles more and play together as a team, and it showed in the score of the game,” Junior Madison Daugherty shared.
While the women’s final score showed a clear gap, the men’s scores throughout the game were closer. With Sophomore Noah Dulin making 22 points and Senior Ethan Driver making 20 points, the War Eagles emerged victorious with a score of 63-54.
The women’s team has had two wins this season and is working hard to grow together and gain more points and wins. The Lady War Eagles’ next game is on Wednesday, December 17, against the Mount Tabor Spartans at home. The men’s team is standing 6-0, showing their teamwork and communication on and off the court. The men’s and women’s teams will play on Thursday, December 18, facing the Huskies from Hough High School at the nest.
