It was a full team effort for the Davie varsity squad on Friday night leading to a 74-35 victory over crosstown rival West Forsyth. This key victory leads the War Eagles to expand their record to 8-5, ranking them 5th in 4A Conference 56.
Zaharee Maddox led the way with 20 points, 7 assists, and 4 rebounds. Blake Walser finished with 15 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 block along with Zymere Hudson finishing with 14 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1 steal. Every player on the team saw some action on Friday.
The War Eagles found ease in this matchup, going 55% from the field as well as 59% from beyond the arch. Davie ended up leading in nearly every major category, including rebounds, assist, steals, and free throw percentage.
The War Eagles were able to put together a number of key plays and moments that contributed to their big win Friday night. Zaharee Maddox knocked down four three-pointers to help lead the War Eagles to victory.
“I think we play very well as a team,” Maddox explains. “If we continue to do this every game, we will be unstoppable.”
