Over previous years, especially through the influence of popular social media apps such as Pinterest and TikTok, we have seen various prom dress trends and their fluctuating popularity and variety. Last year’s trends featured “Easter elegance” and a comeback of bows, but this year’s trends seem to be back-tracking to the standard glitter and glamor that most teenagers associate with prom dresses. 

To get a pulse on this year’s trends, senior Rylie Yount and junior Grace Carroll headed out to Windsor at Hanes Mall to set their eyes on this year’s prom dress trends. From sparkling sequins to vintage-inspired designs, there are plenty of options to suit every style and taste for any dress-shopper out there for the upcoming 2025 prom season.

This stunning yellow dress is bringing some serious sparkle! It features pearl embellishments down the bodice and provides a nice blend between various popular trends, specifically leaning towards the vintage side. The center cutout, as well as the leg slit, provides a lot of versatility as to how someone could choose to pose in it for various photo ops or photoshoots.

Although this dress seems fitted towards last year's trends, the ruffles and pastels are still in! The ruffles give a cute, flowy effect, and the slip-on factor makes it quite comfortable, and maybe even a perfect fit for anyone dancing their heart out on the dance floor.

Unless you’re Chappell Roan, there’s nothing wrong with a plain, solid-colored casual dress for prom! This classic dress features a gorgeous corset top and a high-leg slit that’s sure to keep you dancing all night long. Even with how wide and lengthy it is, this dress feels very light to wear and it’s truly so comfortable.

The Perfect Dress

We know finding the “perfect” dress or outfit for prom is difficult. While these are simply just trends and outfit inspirations that are currently popular, they don’t have to be followed by any means in order to “fit in.” All of us here at the Weekly Talon are sure that students will look amazing in any outfit they choose in preparation for prom on May 3, regardless of what color it is or whether or not it fits the trends.
