Both men’s and women’s basketball emerged victorious in their home openers against North Iredell this past Tuesday, November 26. The women dominated the court in their showing against the Raiders with strong performances from sophomores Emmie Burris and Avarie Martin (each scoring 18 and 10 pts, respectively) leading to a decisive victory 68-18.
Senior Bryson Mickey and junior Ethan Driver led in scoring for the men’s team, each netting 13 points total, though they were followed closely by seniors Jackson Powers and Landon King, each with 11 points. While the Raiders played a close game in the first half, the War Eagles broke away in the second, leading to a final of 76-52.
