This year, we have a multitude of styles that are trending in Talon and on TikTok for you page. As we know the glitz and the glam are a huge part of the traditional southern prom but now new trends are emerging this year such as short dresses, pantsuits, and so-called “easter dresses.” This prom season I was able to go back to HipChics Formal wear to try on these beautiful outfits.

First, let’s start with the main trends of this year’s prom season. When looking at colors, pastels are very popular this year this year. Yet, for seniors, black is always a popular option. While browsing, I saw lots of glitter, long slits in the leg, strapless dresses, and beading. 

This dress is not the traditional Southern prom dress, but for individuals who want to wear something shorter, this look is a dream. The lavender pastel color paired with the ruffles gives it a flowy effect. This dress also ties at the back, allowing a cinched waist. 

Continuing with the short dress choices, this lovely red dress has lots of beading and pockets, which are any dress wearer’s favorite thing. This lovely maroon dress will be sure to dazzle any crowd and bring a different approach to the scene. 

This lovely pastel blue dress signifies the major shift between glitz and Easter dresses. Its long, flowing silhouette will make anyone feel like they’re floating around the dance floor.

Staying in the so-called Easter dress family, this dress was originally a bridesmaid dress. It is a mint green stays in with the Easter theme and is pastel colored much like the other dresses this year.  This dress also has a small bow on it, which is a huge item that is trending in Talon. The small and modest slit also allows the dress to have more of a shape making it the perfect look for anyone going for a classic dress

This dress is still in the Easter family, with a shoulder shower of a halter top. It made me feel like I was starring in Hercules as Meg on Broadway. It feels like quite the power move. 

Speaking of power moves, dresses are not a requirement for prom. A simple, black jumpsuit can make anyone feel like a “bawse.” Pockets are always the best way to carry your phone onto the dance floor. 

Carrying on with black outfits, this long dress has many features, such as beading, pockets, and a long slit. Not only does this dress tie in the back but also tie into the black-tied-themed event that is the Grammys. It’s giving you a cinched waist and ruching toward the dress’s lower half. This strapless black dress will definitely be a hit, especially for seniors. 

This elegant blue dress has lots of beading and a delicate string leading down the back allowing you to tie it into a bow. This dress focuses on the back through the flowing layers and intricate racerback string detailing. 

This strapless dress fit for Cinderella features a long train, lots of beading down the bodice, and the capability to cinch your waist with a bow in the back. Not only is this dress fit for a princess, but it’s also a beautiful pastel blue, following the trend. 

This stunning dress is perfect for Margot Robbie, who starred in the blockbuster Barbie movie this summer as the titular heroine. This dress fits the strapless trend, has a long slit, and beading all the way down. These rhinestones are sure to make the whole place shimmer. 

Speaking of shimmering, this mermaid dress has small sleeves with flowers, an elegant slit, strings to tie a bow, and glitter all the way down the dress. 

Finally, this elegant tan dress has pockets, a high slit, and beautiful flowers laced on the bust. This dress fits the theme perfectly.
