It can be challenging to watch all your friends travel somewhere distant during Spring Break, especially when you’re stuck at home. Though staying in town can seem rather uneventful or appear boring, taking a closer look allows us to find many fun ways to keep ourselves entertained throughout the week.
Solo Activities
First, let’s talk about solo activities! Even if your friends left for the beach without you, there are still plenty of things you can do on your own.
- Backyard camping. This is something fun you can do without leaving your home. All you need is a tent; if you need anything, you can always go inside for a second. This is a great activity to do by yourself to connect with nature.
- Pick flowers. This is the time when flowers are blooming, so go outside and enjoy nature. You can make flower crowns and have a bouquet to brighten your room for spring.
- Have a movie marathon. This is an easy one to do with family or by yourself. Put on some of your favorite movies, grab some snacks, and get comfy. This is very easy, at home, and fun. Because of the increase in technology, you can have a movie night with friends even if you can’t be together.
- Return to a hobby or even start a new one. Some common fun hobbies over Spring Break include crocheting, cooking, baking, and painting.
- Do something you have been putting off. Whether that thing you have been procrastinating on is cleaning, finishing a project, or doing your laundry, Spring Break is an awesome time to catch up on these things and get stuff done.
Group Activities
Next, let’s discuss things you can do yourself or with friends.
- Go to a museum, zoo, or park. These are great ideas if you want to leave the house over Spring Break since you’re staying home. You can go to these places by yourself or with friends. If you want to make a game out of it, make a scavenger hunt or another fun game.
- Go skating, bowling, or hiking. Depending on what you or your friends want to do, you could choose to have an active afternoon with physically engaging activities like these.
- Make your own event. This is where you can get the most creative. Whether it’s a ‘Mamma Mia ’-themed party, murder mystery, or scavenger hunt, this can be fun for groups of friends and family.
You can also use the time to relax and enjoy yourself. Spring Break is meant to be just that: a break. Take this time to relax, spend quality time with loved ones, and create new memories. This way, you can be refreshed and ready for anything and everything this last quarter of the 2023–2024 school year will bring.
