Hope Prom Masquerade Ball

Article by Rachel Quance

The annual Hope Prom for the Soaring Eagles took place this year on Monday, January 24th and was not only a blast but a memorable experience for all that attended. The Davie High National Honors Society worked diligently since October of 2021 to plan the dance. Their hard work was all made worthwhile seeing the students, parents, and even teachers boogie their hearts out.

A special thanks to Hip Chics of Clemmons for providing some of the gorgeous gowns that the girls sported.

“Thank you to Hip Chics Boutique who visited the beautiful young ladies in the Soaring Eagles classroom at Davie County High School. Hip Chics is an awesome community partner who will be outfitting these lovely ladies for their Hope Prom this month!  #godavie #hopeprom2022” as stated from the Davie County Schools Twitter Page.

It wouldn’t be a dance without the fresh tunes! Fan favorites were “Macarena” by Los Del Rio, “Shake it Off” by Taylor Swift, and the “Cupid Shuffle” by Cupid. Dancers swayed, shaked, and twirled before settling down for a Chick-fil-A and Subway catered lunch.

Once of the attendees, Heidi Dix, remarks the experience as “special” and “lively,”

“Hope Prom was a fun experience to be able to be a part of. I was the Decoration Chair Committee person, and got to help organize the prom’s “theme” as well as arrange and place all items at the venue. It was so fun being able to dance with the kids (Soaring Eagles) and make them feel special. They are really good dancers, and I know they had just as much fun as I did.”

She even says that the Soaring Eagles probably had more fun at the event than she did.
