It was a full team effort for the Davie varsity squad on Friday night leading to a 74-35 victory over crosstown rival West Forsyth. This key victory leads the War Eagles to expand their record to 8-5, ranking them 5th in 4A Conference 56.

Zaharee Maddox led the way with 20 points, 7 assists, and 4 rebounds. Blake Walser finished with 15 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 block along with Zymere Hudson finishing with 14 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1 steal. Every player on the team saw some action on Friday.

The War Eagles found ease in this matchup, going 55% from the field as well as 59% from beyond the arch. Davie ended up leading in nearly every major category, including rebounds, assist, steals, and free throw percentage.

The War Eagles were able to put together a number of key plays and moments that contributed to their big win Friday night. Zaharee Maddox knocked down four three-pointers to help lead the War Eagles to victory. As Maddox explains, “I think we play very well as a team, if we continue to do this every game we will be unstoppable.”

Let’s hope that the team can continue to come together as Davie looks to add even more victories to the win column this season.
